Conscious Living, Conscious Leaving

A few months ago, I was contacted about providing TypePad support for a very unique project. Coach and consultant Ilene Kouzel had been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in early 2004. She was now working with her friend and fellow coach Carol Ross to produce an audio project that chronicled her final days, as well as her thoughts about dying.

Ilene passed away a month ago today (on October 9, 2006), but her provocative thoughts on leaving this world, as well as her final time living on it, are still available in the podcast series , as well as the blog.

I can take very little credit for the enormous amount of work that went into this project. I simply provided consulting around TypePad-related issues for the blog portion of the project.

Ilene was very blessed to have a number of friends and family who helped make this project a reality. She was also very courageous to essentially put it all out there. It is, quite simply, very powerful stuff.
