"...it is empowering to think of someone other than yourself."

February 14, 2006

U.S. Speedskater Joey Cheek put himself out there by announcing last month that if he won a gold medal in Turin, he would donate the $25,000 USOC bonus to Right to Play. Right to Play is a humanitarian organization that works to create "a healthier and safer world for children through the power of sport and play."

And win he did. As do we...his grace and abundance mentality are a model for all of us.

Specifically, he has earmarked his money to go to refugee children from Darfur. And he is encouraging others...you, me, anyone...to work to match his contribution.

You can do so here.

Thanks for helping to spread the word, Sharilyn. It IS empowering to think of others beyond oneself. I love this story.
