I Do Love the Lists

December 6, 2005

I love Top 10 lists or just about any article written in list format. And December is definitely the season for lists on just about any topic.

I found a bounty of lists at fimoculous.com (by way of Slacker Manager)...here are just a couple of my favorites:

The Top Politically (in)Correct Words for 2005

1. Misguided Criminals for Terrorists

6. Deferred Success as a euphemism for the word fail.

9. "God Rest Ye Merry Persons" for "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

read the rest at Global Language Monitor - The Language Police (oh, how I like the sound of that...)

2005 Word of the Year

The winner is podcast, with bird flu, lifehack, persistent vegetative state, and sudoku as some of the runners-up.

From the Oxford University Press, by way of Yahoo Finance

And not on that list, but one of my favorites just the same...

5ives.com from Merlin Mann. For those of us whose attention spans are not long enough for top ten lists. Five Rules of Thumb is one my latest favorites.
