My moo has been heard!

October 10, 2005

Seth Godin referenced my review of The Big Moo in his blog today, and used it to illustrate a point.

The point being that some people are lame and have no taste that we all take something different away from the experience of reading this book. And of course, we all bring something different to the reading of this book.

There were other essays that really touched me in The Big Moo, but this one (Talking About the Weather) struck me in a very primal way. It's a wonderful reflection of where I am now, in my life and in my business. And I wouldn't expect it to affect anyone else the same way it affected me.

And for the record, it wasn't exactly Sam's favorite either. He gave me a WTF look after he read it. Here's to hoping he'll evolve to a point where it is more meaningful to him.

Downside: I thought I was being so damn clever with the title...even though I knew only those of us who were children in the early and mid 1970s would get it. Now I can't get it out of my head. MUST. MAKE. IT. STOP.

Or something like that.

By a startling coincidence, the Dilbert cartoon of Oct 8 illustrates a whole NEW way that talking about the weather is a universal common denominator of human interaction.
