Help Those Who Can Least Help Themselves

Please don't forget the countless pets and other domestic animals who have been left homeless by Hurricane Katrina. The Human Society of the United States is raising funds to rescue the animals in the areas affected by this disaster.

Update: The North Shore Animal League is also leading rescue efforts for pets in the hurricane zone. You can donate online or call 877-4SAVEPET.

NSALA also provides great info on pet safety and health in the event of an emergency. As mom to two four-legged kids in earthquake country, it's very good advice to keep in mind.
